Bowie is a European short-haired kitten that captivates the internet with his blue and green eyes. The cat has heterochromia, a genetic factor that results in eyes of different colors.

Abandoned in a park at three months old, the animal was taken to a shelter until being adopted by Maria Lloret, in Spain.
“My sister saw an ad looking for a family for Bowie, and when we met him, we fell in love. He was obviously a beautiful cat, but he was also very affectionate, always purring and seeking some warmth. As soon as he arrived home, he began to eat like crazy and fell asleep in my arms,” she told the website Bored Panda.
The owner decided to pay tribute to the legendary English singer David Bowie, even though she was aware that the icon did not have heterochromia and suffered from a permanent pupil dilation (mydriasis) due to a fight.
“As fans of Bowie, we knew this when we named our cat after him. But when I saw his face, I couldn’t think of a better name. With blue and green eyes and the mark on his nose, it was the perfect name,” she explained.
Bowie even has his own account on Instagram and boasts over 30,000 followers enamored with the cat with differently colored eyes.
